This is the green which lies closest to the site of Cleekhimin Inn which stood on the old coach road just outwith the bounds of Brunston. Since the old coach road was the main route through the valley to Girvan there is no doubt that may persons of note used the old highway and Kleekhimih Inn would be well known to them. Amongst these persons may well have been Robert Burns, Hew Ainsley and many other notable persons. It is thought that the old Inn was demolished at the beggining of the last century but its site can still be traced.
